This book includes views of Durham and Peel Castles, Search documents and file names for text d en route to Edinburgh in 1801; on ff.91v and 92v there is a pencil sketch of Edinburgh from a distance. ff.44v and 45 show almost the slightest of ten sketches of Norham (ff.42v to 50), the starting point for the series of later variations, in particular the Liber Studiorum design and the Rivers of England illustration (Nos.642, 645).
