The finished drawing for the Liber Studiorum plate (No.643), which is inscribed 'the drawing in possession of the late Lord Lascells'; derived from the sketches in T.B.XXXIV f.57' and LIII ff.44v and 45r. This design is in fact much modified from that composition and was to form the basis of the Rivers of England drawing (No. 645).

Turner published the drawing as 'P' for Pastoral; but it would perhaps have been more appropriately grouped with such plates as the 'River Wye' (R.48), published as 'Epic Pastoral'.
