Salon de la Muse
An Exhibition on Contemporary Appearances of the Muse curated by Lieven Segers
The classic image of the muse as a silent, graceful woman on the sidelines is largely a thing of the past in today's art world. Today, artists experience their muse as something much more dynamic and multifaceted - not as a passive figure, but as an active, sometimes even unpredictable source of inspiration. For many, the muse is no longer a fixed form, but a fluid force that can encompass ideas, memories, emotions, social issues or digital influences. Salon de la Muse offers a unique opportunity to discover this new approach to the muse. In this exhibition, more than 160 contemporary artists + 40 children share their most intimate and inspiring power. Their works reveal how the muse appears to them: as a person, thought, memory, dream, or even an abstract moment. This exhibition shows the multifaceted forms the muse can take and how it renews and shapes today's creativity. Salon de la Muse invites visitors to see the muse as something that is also present in our daily lives, an intangible force that can drive us to new creations. Welcome to AAIMACHINE, the gallery and studio of artist Lieven Segers in Antwerp, Berchem where the muse is constantly changing in the group exhibition and discover how she inspires artists in surprising and unexpected guises.
