A large heavy metal frame depicts the house and its crawl space of serial killer John Wayne Gacy aka The Killer Clown. John Wayne Gacy (17 March 1942 – 10 May 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured and murdered at least thirty-three young men and boys between 1972 and 1978 in Norwood Park Township, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. He became known as the 'Killer Clown' due to his public performances as a clown prior to the discovery of his crimes. From 28 August 1987 to 12 August 1990 I corresponded with him and bought two of his paintings, 'Pogo the Clown' and 'Skull Clown'. Gacy also sent me several hand painted greeting cards. He also reproduced my first letter in his book 'They Call Him Mr. Gacy', published in 1989 by McClelland Associates. Metal, plywood, paint, two original Gacy paintings, 203cm x 288cm x 6cm. Property of the artist. | ||
