Pro-Breendonk

A 3D remake of my performance 'Pro-Breendonk' in Fort van Breendonk, Breendonk, Belgium on 13 July 1984.

The sculpture was left behind anonymously in the Middelheim Open Air Museum for Sculpture on 19 September 2024 in the 'Come Closer' exhibition where "the space between sculpture and performance art is explored".

Visitors were challenged to find the sculpture and take it home.

'Pro-Breendonk' was found by Barend & Chris on Wednesday 25 September 2024, five days after sending out a mailing to 1108 recipients. The location was 51°10'48.0"N 4°24'39.0"E. A nearby sculpture is 'Quasar Noise Tank' by Philip Metten.
