One of the Swiss drawings acquired by Walter Fawkes. Based on pencil studies in the 'Lake Thun' sketchbook (T.B.LXXVI ff.60, 61). A design for the Liber Studiorum follows the general composition of this watercolour: the sepia drawing is T.B.CXVI-R; the plate was published in 1808 (R.I5).
