094 - ‘Studies for Pictures- Isleworth’ Sketchbook - Classical Composition - Slight Sketch of Trees
The sketchbook contains a series of views on the Thames, near Twickenham, Windsor and Weybridge. A memorandum inside the front cover notes dates in the summer of 1804; the sketchbook may have been in use from that period. There is considerable homogeneity of style among the sketches, both in pen and in watercolour; they have stylistic affinities with the group of Thames watercolours of c.1806 (T.B.XCV; Nos. 114, 115). Some of the views identified by Finberg as Windsor, e.g. ff. 18, 19, 35 seem in fact to show Richmond or Hampton Court. An image generated by an AI Machine Learning Model Property of the artist.
