One of eight plates engraved by W. B. Cooke after designs by Turner for Views in Sussex (later called Views in Hastings and its Vicinity) commissioned by John Fuller in 1810, which appeared between 1816 and 1820. Turner himself etched an emblematical vignette for the cover of Part I (Rawlinson 128). No. 127 is one of Turner's drawings for the series. See also the aquatint by J. C.
