Engraved by G. Cooke for Picturesque Views of the Southern Coast, 1824 (Rawlinson No.118). Based on the pencil sketch in the 'Hastings' sketchbook (T.B.CXXXIX-19v, 20v). The watercolour was evidently made several years after the sketch, since, according to Thornbury, Cooke paid Turner ro guineas for it in 1824 (1862 Vol.II, p.424).
