Sketches made on a journey from Heidelberg through Ludwigsburg, Cannstadt, Kirchheim, and Ulm, presumably to Augsberg, and thence to Munich, Wasserburg and Salzburg. Many of the drawings are the briefest notes made from a moving carriage, with names scribbled on them. The book was opened at random, no sequence being followed. The most extensive series in any one place is the group of views of Munich, ff. 55-60, 71v, and 82r. It is not certain in which year Turner made this journey.
